Following a massive bomb hoax that shut down hundreds of schools and colleges across the UK, a teenager believed to be at the heart of an Minecraft gamers feud was arrested. Hertfordshire police arrested the 19-year old after 24,000 threatening emails sent to schools were sent warning of a bomb attack , and asking for cash. The emails were spoofed to look as if they were sent by a gaming network called VeltPvP. VeltPvP is a Minecraft player-versus-player server, which is the kind of server that businesses make use of to sell their products to gamers. Hertfordshire police arrested the 19-year-old following 24,000 emails were sent out to schools informing them of the threat of attack. The emails were intended to cause the domain to be banned because of abuse. They are believed to be from a group aiming to undermine VeltPvP. Advertisers warn Facebook that Facebook is not doing enough They stated that they understood the concerns of teachers and parents however, they stressed that there was not a credible threat from the emails that were sent to schools. We are however taking the communications extremely seriously. We are unable to comment further since this is an ongoing investigation. The signs were put up on the outside of Cardinal Road School in Feltham after the hoax email bombings. People involved in the squabble claimed opponents had engaged in illegal acts to hinder one another's business. "It's awful, it's not the nicest thing', one hoaxers stated when asked if he regretted the effect the letters had had on school students who were forced to leave. The blame is being placed on VeltPvP the hoaxer claimed that the network was involved in a series of Direct Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks - which he claims were used to shut down other rival Minecraft servers. In response to the fake bomb email threat, parents were asked to return their children to their homes. In a statement, VeltPvP said: 'We've been targeted by a group of cybercriminals that are trying to harass us in every way they can. 'We're extremely sorry for anyone who has to go through this, but remember that it's not real.' The email was sent to more than 400 schools and colleges across the country. It claimed that the bomb was already planted and would explode if the money was not given. Cardinal Road School, Feltham West London was one of the schools to receive the hoax email. Police forces from London, Bristol, Liverpool, Bedfordshire and the the North East were among those conducting an investigation. GSERVERS Parents at a few schools asked to be able pick their children up amid fears over the emails. Six schools across Hertfordshire were also among those affected: Abbots Hill in Hemel Hempstead, Valley School in Stevenage, The Sele School in Hertford, Duncombe School in Hertford, Stanborough School in Watford and St Albans High School.
