The rhythm is swinging and distorted with the bouncy synth which sounds as if it's bathed in water, only to be hit by the snares a drum machine. And despite the abrasive instrumental, Hendricks' vocals are very melodic. His phrasing has a strong, yet unrestrained enthusiasm throughout the track but is still incredibly relevant to the world of professional wrestling and Game of Thrones.The track also contains Hendricks dissing the gentrifiers taking over Brooklyn in Williamsburg, New York. He's clearly displeasured by the newcomers and their "fucking latte art" warning them about the fake Brooklyn accents and claiming that his generation will be able to take it back. Hendricks is adept at mastering an New York moment.JPEGMafia puzzles is a record that perfectly captures Hendricks vision of hip-hop in its rawest and most unfiltered form. The album is not afraid to be infuriating and accessible to the young generation who is lost in a society which is becoming increasingly turbulent and hostile. This is a record that's vital for all who want to learn more about a hip-hop artist of the modern period, one who is not scared to defend his beliefs or the system which has shaped a generation.
